SOLAR-BRAYTON GENERATOR
The system above is miniature Gas Micro Turbines with target peak output of 10 KW,
which employs unusual CPC tubular Collector as the heat source and Sodium Nitrate as the heat sink that is used later as heat recovery during no radiation condition to provide consistent electric flow.
STEAM TURBINE POWER PLANT
The project was done to have a better understanding of Rankine cycle and its various modified stage to increase the total efficiency of the entire cycle. Initial condition of inlet turbine pressure of 1800 psi, inlet temperature of 1000 F and exhaust quality of steam of 87 percent was assigned and the magnitude of reheat pressure, mass flow rate and efficiency of the cycle, location and number of feed water heaters were determined.
GAS TURBINE DESIGN
The project was done to have a better understanding of Brayton cycle. This project discusses the basic design of a gas turbine based on real cycle parameter analysis and with regeneration for efficiency optimization. The project is divided into two parts: First, we perform the basic cycle calculation by obtaining thermodynamic properties at each state. This include enthalpy, temperature, pressure & efficiency. Then the efficiency was optimized by adding regeneration or heat recover technique to increase the total efficiency. Second, aerodynamics and blade parameters were calculated based on the turbine work and other design parameters.
