The purpose of this project is to design a sandwich column hinged at both ends and which can sustain a buckling load P. A choice of three face material is available. Using the honeycomb construction and  aluminum alloy 2024 as the core material the most cost effective design is to obtain with  respect to strength and cost ratio.
